Soccer Clinics: Social and Community Engagement
The two weeks program invited Assmaah Helal from the Football United Sydney Australia to mentor and share her skill experience as a Muslim female soccer player in numerous schools and pesantrens in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor, Majalengka, Cirebon and Makassar. As for the target beneficiaries, the program aimed to junior high/secondary school students especially young girls age 12 – 15. ICIP invited public and private junior high school including pesantrens in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor, Majalengka, Cirebon and Makassar. The soccer program goals are to educate and empower women in particular young girls on gender equality and other issues relate, to promote and encourage schools to insert soccer as a part of school curriculum and to provide and share soccer knowledge, strategies and skills for the beneficiaries. The schools and pesantren that participated in the program are SMP Muhammadiyah Pamulang, Pesantren Darul Qolam Balaraja Tangerang, Pesantren Nurul Iman Parung Bogor, Pesantren al Mizan Majalengka, Pesantren Kebon Jambu Cirebon and SMP Persada Makassar. The program is collaboration with the Australia Embassy.
