The winner of marketing project teams in ten cities. Here are the projects on students against violence that conducted by the chosen team.

Jakarta

The group consisted of Gloria Anastasya, Anindya Paramitha, Tiarani Saputri, Nila Adriana, and Rida Yunita who all were from Universitas Beragama Moestopo Jakarta, conducted a movement called Budaya Anti Kekerasan (BATIK). The project aims to raise awareness and sensitivity on violence as very serious issue particular in student circle. The main campaign activities consisted of two things, firstly the offline campaign activity and secondly the online campaign activity. The online campaign aims to use social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube to be effective tools in spreading the messages. As for the offline campaign, it aims to conduct practical activities that concern on the main theme to promote the main issues. The BATIK project has created an account in facebook named Batik’s voice, twitter account named BATIKsVOICE and has developed a blog called wearebatiksvoice.blogspot.com to express its ideas, display its activities. As for the practical campaign the group conducted a road show to Universitas Pamulang and circulated hundred of pin, sticker and brochure on how to say no to violence to the students as well as people who passed by the campus. Second activity was conducting a talk show by inviting numerous students from its network. The talk show was held on February 28 at a café in Best business area South Jakarta. It was attended by 50 students and during the talk show they engaged in an interactive discussion.

Garut

The chosen group in Garut consisted of Nita Eldiani as the head of the group and its members were Irni Ardianti, Abida Nurhayati, Delita Utami, Rahmi Fatimah, and Septi Ahmad who were from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Yasa Anggana Garut. The group conducted a project called Masyarakat Anti Kekerasan (MATIK) or Anti Violence Community that targeted high school students in Garut area that aimed to raise and strengthen awareness on the danger of violence in particular violence that committed by high school students that were brutal and the number of violence cases escalated. The projects divided into two activities namely practical activities and online activities. For the offline activity they conducted two seminars targeting high school students in Garut aimed raising awareness on anti violence. To have attention from the target group the MATIK used fun technique such as photo statement for anti violence movement, paper writing and debate contests in order to create agent of change from the high school students. The contest was named Got Talent contest that inspired from popular television shows, the MATIK hoped that through this kind of event the main message would be understood by the high school students. As for the online activity the MATIK used social media for amplifying their offline activity. They used popular social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube for disseminating their messages. The MATIK also had a program called regular texting that sending about short messages to a hundred students containing anti violence message. Besides sending anti violence texts the MATIK also made 100 stickers, pens, and block notes to be freely distributed. The period of duration took more than 3 months and the activities were warmly welcomed by the students as well as the teachers. The outcomes were seen by their responses towards the activities.

Bandung

In Bandung the group was led by Nuri Novianti Afidah and the members were Dimas Muhammad, Ratna Patimah Sudrajat, Rika Susanti, Siti Amanah, and Hari Firmansyah who all came from Universitas Pendidikan Negeri Bandung and Universitas Katolik Parahiyangan. They formed a project called Remaja Berahlak Menolak Kekerasan or RAHMAN (youth with attitude say no to violence). RAHMAN project aimed to raise and strengthen awareness in high school students on say no to violence. They conducted road shows to high schools in Bandung and asked them to join the movement. They promoted the project through some news paper and radio that popular in Bandung such as Pikiran Rakyat and Manajemen Qolbu. The final activity was to hold a gathering event inviting many Islamic high school organizations in Bandung. However in Bandung the RAHMAN project faced significant challenges and issues that hampered the project but luckily that did not stop the group from continuing the project. Despite the challenges the RAHMAN team managed to accomplish the final event namely RAHMAN gathering event that attended by numerous Islamic high school organizations. RAHMAN project also involved in online campaign, it used facebook, twitter and youtube to promote the message on anti violence.

Depok

The team that chosen in Depok led by Vania Laksana Putri and the members were Haris Firmansyah, Auliya Ramingga Sari, Arthur Franky Rinaldi and Adib Nailul Akmal. The proposed a project called Academy of Character and aimed to educate children in order to raise awareness on tolerance and respect on each other in Beji Depok. The main reason the team chose Beji because the area allegedly to be linked to the terrorist group. The team conducted three different workshop seminars in three different elementary schools in Beji Depok. The central issue is to raise awareness to create a harmonious society without violence starting from early ages. The workshop not only directed for the students but also for teachers so that they also aware that violence is a matter of very serious issue that endanger society life. A very particular thing happened when the team conducted a seminar in an orphanage school, they were told that this kind of seminar was the first time for children and the seminar has surely taught and enhanced their knowledge. Besides holding seminars the team also worked for online campaign. The team used popular social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube to document and spread their activities.

Bogor

The student project in Bogor led by Abdullah Naufal and the members were Ahmad Sahal, Achmad Nuruddin, Siti Masytah, and M. Robby Rodliyya. The team members were from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and Institut Tazkia Bogor. The project called Day of Loving Family (DEALOVA) aimed to raise and strengthen awareness on anti violence in particular in family circles in Bogor. The project targeted toddlers in Taman Pendidikan Al Qur’an (TPA) or Qur’anic Kindergarten as well as their teachers and parents. The main activity consisted of trainings for the teachers and pupils and also giveaways the module for the teachers so that they were able to proceed the anti violence education for the toddlers even after the projects completed.  The final activity was to hold an event not only for the families who involved in the project but also family in general. The event took place at Car Free Day in Bogor on every Sunday. The team has distributed around 200 pins and brochure to the visitor who came to their booth, hopely the messages would be taken seriously by the parents. Besides conducting practical activities, the team also made campaign through social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube.

Cirebon

The team that was chosen in Cirebon led by M. Ridwan and the members were Ali Muddin, Daryono, M. Firmansyah, Brezi Baihaqqi, and Sofyan Tsuri. The teams were coming from Universitas Muhamadiyah and Bunga Bangsa College Cirebon. They developed a project called Don’t Stop My Expression (DOSEN) aimed to shift paradigm for people in Cirebon not to tolerate violence on behalf of religion as well as to support religious freedom. The project targeted high school students including pesantren community surrounding Cirebon. The project divided into two activities, firstly the offline activity namely the contest on poem writing and recitation, debate and speech on tolerance and respect and love for others for the junior and high school students. Another important event held by the team was a seminar on religious harmony working together with Pesantren Gedongan in Ender Pangenan Cirebon on January 27 2013. The seminar had prominent religious leaders such as Kiayi Mukhlisin Muzari and Marzuki Wahid of Islam, Rev. Yosua of Christian and Suryapranata of Buddha. The seminar was attended by approximately 100 persons and was covered by local media, such tv Cirebon, Fajar Cirebon and Radar Cirebon. Secondly the online campaign activity. The team so far has a group in facebook and has more than 1,700 members and has created blog as well as youtube account.

Semarang

The group was led by Ilham Jabbar Prabowo and the members were Dodi Afandi, Ibnu Imam Dlahry, Lalu Tri, Salma Suroyya Y., and Galuh Diptya K. who were students from Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) Semarang. They created a project called Diponegoro Gerakan Sosial Anti Kekerasan (DGESTER PLAN) that focused on community development in a small village that consisted of pluralistic society. The project aimed to create harmonious inter faith community including Muslim, Christian and Buddhist in Tanon village Semarang under the DGESTER project by creating a project that involving whole villagers. The project is actually a part of common program called ‘Program Desa Wisata’ (Village Touristic Program) that is conducted by the communities in order to increase their income as well as to strengthen the bonding within the village community. The Desa Tanon village consists multi religions so that it is important to strengthen the respect-others attitude. The DGESTER project actually makes a biogas installation that produced by the breakdown of cows dung that at that time considered as the main problems to the villagers since they develop their tourism business.  Besides conducting digester biogas the team also conducted social media campaign on anti violence. Like other student projects in different cities, the team also used popular social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube to disseminate the anti violence messages. The team of Undip Semarang took a quite long period to accomplish the project due to unexpected challenges that beyond their calculation however the team has managed to complete the work.

Solo

The Solo team led by Candra Hima Yudha Pratama and the members were Fauziah, Aji, Yulian, Sahid, and Widar who were from Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret (UNS). The project called Mobilisasi Budaya Anti Kekerasan Mahasiswa Universitas Sebelas Maret (MBAH SEMAR). It aimed to educate parents and children not to tolerate on violence. They in particular focused on street children as the target group since the street children are mostly victims and likely to turn to be perpetrator in doing violence based on the team observation and brief study. The main activities were campaign on Car Free Day on every Sunday for a month in order to raise the awareness and sensitivity to help children especially street children not to become target of violence acts. The team has managed to persuade other students around 60 students to join and participate actively for the campaign. During the Car Free Day campaign the team has distributed stickers, pins, t shirts and banners to the event visitors. It is hoped by giving the memorabilia freely, it will enhance the society mindset on violence and most importantly to practice the message of anti violence in daily life. Besides the campaign, the team also ran online campaign using popular social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube.

Yogyakarta

The team in Yogyakarta led by Iqbal Zakky Hasbianto and the members were Dimas Valdy, Maria Yovita Liem, and Anggita Ludmila of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). They created a project called Yogya Bermusik that provided a forum for students from various high schools in Yogyakarta to interact, come together, and appreciate each other and to the identity of each other's work. Besides that the project also aimed to increase awareness about the value of togetherness (belong to something in common), anti-violence, mutual respect and peace. The team main activity was talk show to numerous high schools and give brief education on peace movement. The talk show discussed on non violence movement and also explained by informal and interactive approaches so that the participants were relaxed and easily understood the discussion. The event also brought the participants getting to know each other and built a network. The team encouraged the school bands to join and participates to perform such as mini concert in numerous cafes in Yogyakarta sounding the music that fight against violence and support peace. The team also chose to disseminate their works using social media such as facebook, youtube and twitter since these three applications are very popular and it could be very effective means to spread the messages.

Surabaya

The selected team in Surabaya led by Achmad Hariri and the members were Satria Unggul, Ulin Nuha, Idham Choliq, and Holy Ichda Wahyuni of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya. The project that conducted called Gerbang Salam (Garda Terdepan Bangsa Melawan Kekerasan Bersama Mahasiswa). It aimed to increase the tolerance and pluralism among high school students in Surabaya, focusing in Muhammadiyah High School 7. The main activity of the project was to conduct the survey in order to find out the students perception on the issues as well as to build a road map for anti violence movement. The result of the survey was to be discussed on the workshop that held afterwards. The workshop held on March 2, 2013 discussed the definition and forms of violence and on how youth has to actively participate in violence prevention. Besides holding a workshop seminar, the team also published numerous articles on violence in the school magazine. As for the final activity, the team managed to form a flash mob performed by the team and the Muhammadiyah high school students. Besides the mentioned activities, the team also managed to distribute freely pins and stickers on anti violence movement. Just like other teams in other cities, the Surabaya student team also campaigned through social media especially popular soc-med such facebook, twitter and youtube to disseminate and promote the campaign for wider community.
